TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: Noise when using an external clock

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Dear all,

I'm using the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM for my liquid level measurements with a 2Mhz sensor. However this forces me to shorten the time interval in which  the board may measure the TOF. To compensate for that I thought of using a 4 MHZ external clock, provided by an external quartz oscillator.

The problem is that when I use this oscillator it introduces a very high noise to the RX channel, which is exactly the frequency of the clock and about 100mV. Do you have an idea of how to get rid of this noise?

Maybe smooth the clock signal?

All the best,

Glenn
