AWR1642: AWR1642 VOUT_PA output

Part Number: AWR1642

Hi,

when the 1.0V power supply for the RF power is supplied by external LDO that is the internal LDO is run at bypass mode, so, whether the output pin of the  VOUT_PA ( internal LDO) can be still measured a value, ~1.0V  under this condition?

Thanks

  • Hi Su,

What you are seeing is the expected behavior.

The AWRx devices can have their RF1/RF2 supplies powered be either 1.0V or 1.3V at the BGA. In the 1.3V mode, the on-die LDO need to be enabled to take this 1.3V down to the 1.0V actually required by the RF subsystem to function. In the 1.0V mode, the on-die LDO are bypassed and 1.0V from the PCB is fed directly into the RF subsystem.

VOUT_PA is an output of one of these 1.3V to 1.0V LDO for the RF power amplifiers. When the on-die LDO is in bypass this should net should show the PCB 1.0V RF voltage.

Please let me know if that answers your question.

    Thanks,
