Hi,

I am working with the AWR2642BOOST doppler. the doppler is place inside the car and it detects the speed of the surrounding object. My question is, can the doppler measure its own speed while moving ?

What application are you running on AWR1642BOOST

It seems that you have generic question about the function of radar technology.

Thank you for the reply.
I know how it functions. I am using the short range mmwave demo, the doppler measure the relative speed of the surrounding objects ( velocity =surrounding object speed - Doppler speed). however, I want to know the speed of the doppler ? how can I do that ?

Hi,
A radar will be able to measure only relative speed. You will need some kind of global reference such as GPS to measure absolute speed. We have used in the past Vector Nav: www.vectornav.com/.../vn-200
