Hi,

I have a new board that I am making based on the reference design and would like to know the following:

1) When I populated the board with the same parts on the reference design, how do I program the initial firmware?

2) Where can I find the eeprom structure definitions?

Hi Kosta,

1) It's advised to pre-program the FX2 EEPROM with the firmware provided in http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/sboc456.

Use https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors/f/1023/p/635714/2366124?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=opt9221%20programming%20fx2#2366124 if you're programming the EEPROM for the first time.

2) For the OPT9221 EEPROM, you can use the Voxel Programmer software. Find more details on http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sbou155b/sbou155b.pdf.

3) Could you explain what do you mean by structure definitions?

Hi,

I am using the CyConsole for programming V0,17 of the FX2 on the demo board and VoxelProgrammer for the OPT9221 "latest and Greatest". So, Thanks for confirming this.

Yes, sorry I was not clear about #3.

What I meant is that I read the eeprom using the Voxel SDK and see the Voxel Strings. What I wanted to know is: is there a defined structure for the profile definitions or are the adhoc strings that are used on a per profile usage. It looks like each profile has its own set of strings.

Also, is there a doc that lists the IIC addresses for the devices.

You're correct. Each profile has its own set of strings. Profile data is separated by "Voxel" string. It's the same data that's stored in a conf file, as stored in ~/.Voxel/conf directory.
If pixelwise phase offsets are present, then that file is read, and the data is compressed and stored along with the profile data. If this is the case, the pixelwise phase offset data is preceded by a "VOXEL" string as well.

By "IIC" addresses, do you mean the I2C addresses or the contents of the IIC file? In the IIC file, the VID and PID are stored in 0x2b6[9:c] (this is for OPT8241-CDK-EVM).

The I2C addresses are present in the respective datasheets of the devices.
