Hello

I have a AWR1243BOOST board. I want to launch it. So, I have connected 5V and USB cable to PC.

I've downloaded and installed mmWave_Demo_Visualizer 3.1.0.

The software confirm connection to board but i can not launch board

Please help me to set up it.

In platform part, does not exist AWR1243. Is XWR14XX also defined for AWR1243?

Hi Tom,

The mmWave Demo Visualizer only works with the AWR1443 and AWR1642. The AWR1243 is only a RF front-end and you will need to use the mmWave DFP package to work with it.

The mmWave DFP package contains code examples for the PC to configure the AWR1243 device. The mmWave DFP package can be downloaded from here:
software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

You can also use mmWave Studio to control the AWR1243 graphically for lab evaluation. mmWave Studio is available from here:
software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

Note that the AWR1243 sends out raw data over LVDS, and you will need something like the DCA1000 EVM to capture this raw data to a host PC.

Thanks for your attention.

I have MMWave Dev Pack board, but according to your message, because i don't have a board for capture the raw data LVDS, I can not see the AWR1243 radar output function?

Hi Tom,

Yes, you need a different capture board to capture the raw data - we recommend the DCA1000 EVM.

By the way, the mmWave DevPack is this board: www.ti.com/.../MMWAVE-DEVPACK

If you have this board, you can also use the TSW1400 EVM (www.ti.com/.../TSW1400EVM) to capture raw LVDS data.

But if you use the DCA1000 EVM, then you don't need the DevPack and TSW1400 - the DCA1000 replaces both these two boards and can capture for a longer duration. The DCA1000 is now our recommended solution.

Hi Tom,

I will check if we can provide the layout of the DCA1000 EVM.

Please note however that it may not be suitable for a cascaded system. It was never designed for one.

Please download the design files again from the DCA1000 page. The zip file has been updated to include the .DSN and .BRD files.
