HDC2080: Sensor humidity sensor readings shifted

Part Number: HDC2080

Hi,

We are using a bunch of HDC2080 sensors in a container where we try to regulate the humidity.
We are experiencing that some sensors report values 10 to 20 percent more than the actual environment which we verify with a Klimalogg.

We were wondering if this means that the sensors are not handled properly and therefore damaged? Or could there be another explanation for this behaviour?

  • Hi Ferry,

RH accuracy > 6% (+/-3% is the max RH spec in the data sheet) are not expected. Higher offsets, such as 10 or 20% could likely be a contaminated humidity sensor.

The major impact of exposing the sensor element to these "contaminant" agents will be on RH accuracy degradation. Is critical to follow the recommendations and guidelines that can be found in some of technical documents. Please be aware that these document contents are mandatory to follow in order to minimize any potential issue on RH accuracy during testing or operation of the user platform or end product.
