HDC2010: HDC2010 - Pressure Dependence?

Part Number: HDC2010

Hello,

Is the accuracy of the HDC2010's relative humidity measurement significantly effected by changes in ambient pressure? I'd like to use this sensor in pressurized environments ranging from 1 to 4 bars (gauge).

Thanks,

Caleb

  • HI Caleb,
Will you please provide us with the conditions & ranges on temperature and humidity that you are planning to expose the sensor to?
e.g. Is this the 0-60C temp range and 20-80%RH range listed in the HDC2010 data sheet for the spec of max RH accuracy?
Knowing these ranges of operation is important to determine the impact on RH accuracy due to the high pressure that you require.

    Regards,
    Jose
  • Hi Jose,

    Absolutely.

Temperature Range: 20-80˚C (typical), up to 125˚C (extreme)
    RH Range: 20-70% (typical)
Ambient Pressure Range (gauge): 1-4 BAR
    Desired RH Accuracy: < +/- 5% (typical)

Repeatability is more important than absolute accuracy. Also, pressure will be measured by the device simultaneously; therefore, a pressure dependent compensation could be made–if necessary.

    Regards,
    Caleb
  • Hi Caleb,

We don't expect the device to be affected by pressure up to 4 BAR. However, we don't have any data to support this claim nor do we have equipment that would facilitate such testing. Please let us know your experience if you decide to try this out.

    Thanks,
    Ren
