FDC2214EVM: Capacitance variations with temperature

Part Number: FDC2214EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: FDC2214

Hello,

We notice capacitance baseline drift with ambient temperature and I was wondering if there is a way to stabilize it?

Thank you,

Alex

  • Oscillator drift, external LC component drift, and sensor drift can all effect this. There are a few strategies to help:

    - Minimize source of drift by using low temperature drift parts (such as C0G capacitors).
    - If using an external oscillator, make sure that it has low drift as well.
    - Use a reference sensor to track these ambient changes. An unused channel of the FDC2214 can be used for this.
