Can mmwave use to detect fly?

Dear Sir/Madam,

Can I check if mmwave is suitable to detect fly? one of my customer is thinking to use mmwave for fly counting. when a fly or insect fly thriugh a gate, it will start counting. is MMWave a suitable solution for this application?

    Hi kpk,

    We have not experimented with this scenario so the customer would need to perform their own evaluation. It may depend upon the type of fly or insect (different sizes) but my assumption is that the RCS (Radar Cross Section) of a single fly/insect may be very small to produce a good SNR to be detected by Radar.
