AWR1642BOOST: Access to Radar Cube

We are using an AWR1642 and enable MMWDEMO_OUTPUT_MSG_AZIMUT_STATIC_HEAT_MAP and MMWDEMO_OUTPUT_MSG_RANGE_DOPPLER_HEAT_MAP using the guiMonitor command.

 

For MMWDEMO_OUTPUT_MSG_AZIMUT_STATIC_HEAT_MAP, we receive 8192 bytes: 256_Range_Bins x 2_Tx x 4_Rx x 4_bytes. This indicates we only receive the zero doppler image. Is there a way to enable us to receive the full cube using either an option in guiMonitor or using a different command?

 

MMWDEMO_OUTPUT_MSG_RANGE_DOPPLER_HEAT_MAP, we receive 8192 bytes: 256_Range_Bins x 8_Doppler_Bins x 4_bytes. This indicates we either receive cumulative data for all azimuth directions or boresight only.

    Hi,

    In the OOB demo It is not possible to transfer the entire radar cube through the UART. There is too much data.

    You would probably need to capture raw data with the DCA1000 capture card in order to have access to the entire radar cube
