Hello,

Using EVM IWR1443Boost demo board, I’m debugging in functional mode (SOP[2:0] = 001) with the TI debug image flashed. However XDS110 is not able to perform a real reset of the system and I keep pushing the reset button for restarting SW otherwise CCS reset crashes the SW.

Fortunately I have a Blackhawk USB560 v2 System Trace and DevPack board readily available.

It seems to me the DevPack is more tailored for use with radar studio and pre-built binaries than as a generic debug help.

Can you please provide some guidance for using them to enter a real debug mode on the IWR1443 Boost (with SOP[2:0] = 011)?

(with DevPack or other (HD connector adapter?), doesn't matter)

Hi,

You can restart the debug using CCS.

1. Pause the running program
2. Click on CPU reset
3. Click on restart
4. Run the the program

The Dev Pack users guide covers the use of various connectors, Please see section 2.4 of linked users guide

Thanks for your answer.
I already attempted your methodology, the SW will keep crashing slightly after restart, which indicates a true reset hasn't been performed (the assert is at line l. 2222 of main.c)

I read the user manual of the DevPack and mmWave Studio tool too, but found no methodology how to properly enter development mode: each time development mode is selected and set in mmWave studio, the SOP diodes display the expected mode SOP[2:0] then the whole DevPack + IWR1443BOOST restarts and come back to flashing mode (SOP[2:0] = 101b)...

Wanted to add as well that most DevPack LED and NRST from IWR1443BOOST are glowing faint (neither fully on nor fully off) as well; may the DevPack E1 be uncompatible with IWR1443BOOST?

Can you please send complete procedure?

Thanks for the link to the xds110reset utility, it works fine but I'm wondering why such a thing is not supported within CCS itself.

Regarding usage of the DevPack for debugging with XDS560 emulator and my other questions above, do you have answer or internal guide/notes?
