AMC80: Question about replacing LM96080 with AMC80

Part Number: AMC80

Hi team,

Customer wants to replace LM96080IMTX/NOPB with AMC80AIPWR, there are some several issues as below. Thanks a lot!

   1. In the AMC80AIPW datasheet, there is 10mA input current as below. Is it the total current of device? If not, please help to provide the total current. Thanks!

 2. Whether the timing of LM96080CIMTX/NOPB device compliance with I2C standard protocol? Compared with AMC80, is it consistent?

 3. Could you please help to provide the minimum value of SMBus timeout as below? Thanks!

4. AMC80AIPW device doesn't have the following parameters of LM96080CIMTX/NOPB. Is it same? Please help to check. Thanks!

  • Hello Zhengquan,

    Please see my response accordingly

    1. The 10mA is the Absolute max that the device should be sinking through the supply. If the input current exceeds 10 mA, the device may be irrecoverably damaged.
    2. Both devices are compatible with I2C standard protocol. The timings may not be the same, but overall protocol compatibility should be there.
    3. In case of SMBus Timeout, the max spec should be used. If a timeout of min is used, it may not be sufficient for devices which are closer to the Max timeout value.
    4. For AMC80, the VIH and VIL for digital inputs is specified as value instead of a scaled function of supply voltage.
