AWR1642: How to read range data live, so that it can be used for programming.

Hi,

I need to read the range data being sent back to the PC, which is shown as the range on the mm Demo visualizer. I want to use this data in arduino, to allow a buzzer to work in response to how close an object is to the EVM.

Any help would be great thanks.

Can you connect AWR1642 to Arduino through SPI or UART?

You can save the data that is sent to PC. How do you plan to transfer the data to arduino?

Yes, it connects through UART.

I do not know yet, how can i use the data from UART directly into arduino?

Is there anyway for the arduino to read from the UART port?

Hi,

The mmWave SDK demo sends the output data through UART.

The format of the data is described in the mmWave SDk demo documentation. The demo wikk send the (x,y) coordinates for points detected.

You need to program the arduino to receive the Data, parse it and then make a decision based on the distance
