HDC2010: HDC2010 Tj max

Part Number: HDC2010

Would you tell me the maximum junction temp(Tj max) for HDC2010YPAR ?

I hope to know this value for thermal simulation.

    we don't have a published spec for Tj max on this device, we do have multiple other thermal specs in section 6.4 of the datasheet, as you may have seen. www.ti.com/.../hdc2010.pdf (page 4) - also note the link there to the Thermal metrics app note www.ti.com/.../spra953c.pdf below that table.

    I think this is same as operating range on datasheet and general value for IC.

    It seems that it may be a bit more accurate to use equation 8 from: www.ti.com/.../spra953c.pdf
    you can then calculate and simulate based on that - after you decide which operations you want to include in the simulation.
    Meaning directly, for example - if operating at 1.8VDC, you can have the RH and Temp measurements happening at max current draw listed to give you a power....in that case P = 1.620mA * 1.8VDC, P = 2.91mW, then decide what you want to make the Tc value to be and you are good. You could also just simulate having the heater on, too (this is: P = (90mA * 3.3VDC = 297mW, plus 2.91mW...lets call it 300mW) for real maximum power dissipation. Then according to the formula, TJ = TC-top + ΨJT* PT, if the TC-top was 85 degrees C, the junction temp would be estimated to be around 85.18C (as we spec the operating range of the heater to be between -40 and +85C) -

    its about the same - but Table 2,lines 4 and 5 simplify somewhat exactly what is in the previous app note i pointed you to - I hope this is all you need here to be successful in your simulation. Also, you could leave the heater and humidity sensor out of it and push it to 125C operating, with just the temperature sensor, etc. ... any of those combinations :)

    I uderstood the calculation as you mentioned.
    But I hope to know absolute max rating of junction temp to judge if that junction temp is acceptable or not.
    Is your result, 85.15 degC is acceptable for IC ? and what is reference value at that time ?
    The design or process value is OK for me.

    it was just example of that application scenario - if you want to use 125C in your simulation, that would be OK - just not 100% accurate across all scenarios and calculations. this was the reason for pointing out the application note(s) and formulas.
