CCS/AWR1443BOOST: DCA1000EVM and AWR1443: mmWave Studio capture rawdata, rawdata is wrong

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

hellow,

I follow reference document to capture rawdata, but I get wrong data. As shown in the following figure:

there is nothing in the figure of top left corner. meanwhile, when I change the experimental scene,I found it doesn‘t change. The following is my detailed experimental configuration

please tell me how to solve this problem.

thanks

  • Hi,

Can you try enabling the test source and capture data again? This will help identify if there is any issue in the capture.

Steps to enable the test source are in this thread: e2e.ti.com/.../2865722

  • Hi,

I set Test Source Enable, results shown in the following figure.

With the exception of the diagram in the upper left, the remaining three diagrams look normal. I wondered if it had something to do with my lab environment, because I was doing indoor multi-path testing.

    The next figures are Output:

  • Hi

If the results with TestSrc are correct, then there is an issue with your environment

    thank you

  • Hi

Thanks for your reply. In fact,my initial problem is 2D-FFT is wrong. You also can
detect the problem from the above figures. How can I solve this problem.

    Best regards
    Sleepybear
  • Hi Sleepybear,

We don't see the test source being configured in the screenshots above - only the enable of the test source is seen.

Can you explicitly configure the test source from the Test Source tab of mmWave Studio?

  • Hi Anand,

In fact, test source is not the root of the problem. Because I realized that there was already a problem with the original 2D-FFT plot, isn't that a problem with the collection of raw data? I don't think the follow-up process can solve this problem, and I have tried to configure the test source according to my experimental environment, but it didn't work. The question that most puzzled me was whether there was a problem with my initial configuration.

    Sleepybear
  • Hi Sleepybear,

Apologies for the delayed response. I will review your initial configuration sequence again and get back to you.

  • Hi Sleepybear,

We have checked this again with the same version of mmWave Studio and the same sequence of steps. With the test pattern, the data should look like the following image.

Could you post a picture of the top side of your board here? We were wondering if there is a difference in the board revision that causes this.

  • Hi,

My hardware configuration diagram is shown below.

Please allow me to describe my current experimental situation in detail., Now the data I get from mmWave Studio 01_00_00_00 on my desktop computer is correct, and the data obtained through mmWave Studio 02_00_00_02 is still shown above. At the same time, I have no problem with the data obtained by using the two versions of the software on the laptop. Please tell me what is the reason for this?

    Best Regards,

    Sleepybear

  • Hi Sleepybear,

If I understand you correctly, then you have 4 cases:

    1) Desktop + mmWave Studio 01_00_00_00 --> WORKS
    2) Desktop + mmWave Studio 02_00_00_02 --> DOES NOT WORK
    3) Laptop + mmWave Studio 01_00_00_00 --> WORKS
    4) Laptop + mmWave Studio 02_00_00_02 --> WORKS

    Can you confirm?

If the above is correct, can you please attach the 4 log files here? You can get the log file by Right Clicking in the "Output" Window in mmWave Studio.

    Best Regards,
    Anand
  • Hi Anand,

Your description of my problem is very accurate. The figure below is the output of the second case.

The output of the remaining three examples is exactly the same as the one on the map.

    Sleepybear

  • Hi Sleepybear,

We have reviewed this configuration again, and cannot explain the difference.

Your settings look okay to us.

Please let us know if you would still like to investigate this behavior. If so, we will need to do another data capture on your desktop with the two mmWaveStudio versions and check - we can provide a script for this.

If not, we can close this thread.

    Best Regards,
    Anand
  • Hi Sleepybear,

I'm closing this thread for now. Please raise another thread with this one as reference if you would like to still investigate this behavior.

    Anand
