IWR1642BOOST: How to measure velocity of an object?

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST

What is the maximum practical velocity that I can measure using iwr1642boost?

For a general moving object how do i measure accurate velocity?

As per the equation

Velocity in m/sec = Doppler Index * Doppler resolution (for the configured chirp)

i can measure velocity but i am not getting a accurate value from this may be I am wrong on this calculation.

Suppose i am getting  Doppler index value FCFF and my Doppler resolution is 0.13 how do i convert it in to velocity?

I am also not getting from this

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This means that a velocity index of 9 would be sent out as 9-16 = -7 and an index of 10 would be sent out as 10-16 = -6. So 65535 which represents -7 is a larger velocity than 65528 which is the lowest negative velocity.

    Hello,

    1) The maximum velocity is determined by the chirp configuration you set. You can use the sensing estimator to understand the maximum achievable velocity given device constraints and other sensing requirements. Sensing estimator

    2) The above information is correct for calculating doppler. However, you need to take into consideration that the doppler index is signed as doppler values can be positive or negative.

  • I am using iwr1642boost so default on which range parameter this module is working? from this how do i decide chirps per frame.I have below default value for the estimator from that how can i decide chirps per frame? Could you highlight the word in given parameters which shows chirps per frame ? And from that how do I measure velocity

First there is a equation velocity = Doppler index * velocity resolution

And in second  do I have to subtract coming Doppler index from chirps per frame as i have written all this in my above question?

In which range will i get the negative Doppler index value?

Sometimes I am getting value like FAFF, FBFF , FCFF and so on is these correct value of doppler index?

Kindly show me one example with coming any negative value of 4 bytes by calculating velocity.
