HDC2010: Supply current

Part Number: HDC2010

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask HDC2010?

<Question1>
Do "RH measurement" and "Temperature measurement" mean the current in case of sampling?

<Question2>
Does "Average at 1 measurement with each" mean conversion current?

<Question3>
We recognize that each total consumption are follows;
In case of  "RH measurement" and output(※1) : (650uA(typ)×1.8V) + (0.55uA(Typ)×1.8V)
In case of  "Temperature measurement" and output(※1) : (550uA(typ)×1.8V) + (0.55uA(Typ)×1.8V)
(※1)Average at 1 measurement/second, RH (11 bit) + temperature (11 bit)
Is it correct?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Matsumoto-san,
    Thanks for your inquiry.

    I think it breaks down like this, using the 11 bit accuracy as example.

    Startup + Typical RH measurement + Typical Temp Measurement = Typical Total Current @ 1 sec sampling rate

    where:
    (current * measurement time) / sampling rate interval time = average current at that sample rate

    with datasheet values :

    Average 11bit RH measurement = 650u * 400u = 260n
    plus
    Average 11bit Temp measurement = 550u * 350u = 192n
    equals
    0.452uA average current draw over 1 second interval

    if you add in the sleep current, that gets you up to ~500nA
