IWR6843: IWR6843 Tx Power Regulate

Part Number: IWR6843

Hi

We're using the IWR6843 for our project.

In our application we need to regulate the TX transmitting power of the IWR6843 in oder to make sure that the transmitting power stays always the same over different temperature and aging.

Therefore could you help us with the following information:

     - Is the IWR6843 TX transmitting power configurable?

     - Is there an integrated power detector in the IWR6843?

     - If not, do you have any suggestion: how can we regulate the IWR6843 transmitting power? since it's very important for us to make sure the transmitting power stays relative constant over all conditioning.

Thanks very much

Bien

  • Hello,

Yes, IWR6843 has Tx power configurable.  It's supported in latest SDK on wards ( 03_01_01_02).

However it's currently un-calibrated TX Power back-off control with 3dB steps. TX output power beyond 0 dB back off is not very accurate as TX power calibration is not supported in this current release.

Yes, IWR6843 has integrated power detector, However it is not operational in ES1.0 (Engineering Sample).   It would be supported in ES2.0 version of the silicon.   This would also improve the the Tx Power back-off control accuracy.

Please refer to below latest SDK release,

Under below folder you could refer to release notes:

    Thanks and regards,
