CCS / AWR1443BOOST: DCA1000EVM and AWR1443:PostProc, 2D-FFT have same problem

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I have some problems when I capture raw data on mmWave Studio. First,LP ADC Mode on StaticConfig only can use Low Power ADC rather than Regular ADC. Second, The 2D-FFT figure made from the raw data obtained by mmWave Studio 02 is incorrect.. In the end, a 2D-FFT image, made from raw  data on  mmWave Studio 01, first looks as if it is right, then after a while it becomes wrong. At the same time, please tell me how I can determine if the data I obtained is correct.

Best regards

Sleeoybear

  • Hi Sleepybear,

Can you please share the configuration you are using?

Could you please explain "after a while it becomes wrong"? Is the sensor continuously running till this time? Are you stopping the sensor in between? Does it recover if you stop frames and start frames again?

    Best Regards,
    Anand
  • Hi Anand,

This is a post about my configuration:

The details are as follows about the problem I am talking about. When I first configured the parameters to use the mmWave Studio to get the raw data, the 2D-FFT looked no different from the figure of the reference document. But after stopping the measurement for a while, if I do that again, the 2D-FFT is as bad as described above.I don't know if I describe this to help you understand the problems I am currently experiencing. I hope that this problem that has been bothering me for a long time will be broken with your help.

    Best Regards.

  • Hi Sleepybear,

If I understand you correctly, it appears that the captured data is good initially and then degrades over time.

Could you please enable the test source mode and see if the same signature reappears? The test pattern should show a stable single object detection. If you see the same failure occur after a while, then that would very likely be due to some issue in the capture/DCA1000 and not in the AWR1443BOOST board.

    Best Regards,
    Anand
  • Hi, Anand

The current 2D-FFT map is still the same, I started the test source as you said, but it didn't help.

Can you experiment with the same equipment as me, get the correct results, and then configure the hardware configuration and parameters for my reference. I am grateful for this.

    Best Regards,
