CCS/IWR1443BOOST: Win10 version 1803 failed to install FTDI driver for mmwave-devpack

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello Experts,

We are going to install FTDI driver for mmwave-devpack and one of four COM ports is failed to install as below.

When attempting to install FTDI driver to last one, it shows a error message described in below e2e.

This is the case for Win10 Pro version 1803. Win7 is also not installed. In case of Win10 Pro version 1703 and 1709, it works fine. Disabling "Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows" does not help it.

Are there any similar cases? Could you please advice how we can resolve it?

Regards,

Uchikoshi

    Hello Uchikoshi,

Sometimes COM port driver does not install correctly the first time. Can you try right clicking and reinstalling the driver again for the port that is not installed correctly?

    Thanks,
    Amanda
  • Hi Amanda,

Thank you for your proposal. Unfortunately, we tried several times but did not work fine.

In this case , we tried on Window 7 32bit Professional SP1. The last port was not installed since Windows could not find the driver itself. I attempted to install by right clicking and set the folder for C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_01_01_02\tools\ftdi.

    How can we install it?

    Hello,

Can you check that the 4 Jumpers JP1-4 are on the ON position to select for FTDI (and not the 120-pin connector)?

It would also be helpful for debug if you could take pictures of your boards and how they are connected so we can see if there are any issues.

    Thanks,

    Amanda

  • I believe that hardware setup dose not matter since I confirmed this works fine with other PC(OS).

    Hello Uchikoshi,

Thank you for the image yes the jumpers are correct.

I've tried the same firmware and devpack on a Windows 7 computer without issue.
Unfortunately, I think this may be an issue specific to the computer that is being tested.

Would it be possible to use a different PC platform?

    Amanda
  • Hi Amanda,
Thank you for your confirmation. It looks depending on other factors and find other PCs.
