LMP91200: Alternative to TIDA-00561 , I am looking for a reference design/IC which accepts PH electrode and RTD Both

Part Number: LMP91200
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00561,

Hello there,

            Have a nice day.

I want to use the PH electrode and RTD probe both in my circuit but it seems currently TI(built in IC) is not covering that both in same page.

It seems that TIDA-00561 is out dated and LMP91200 currently only supports the PH electrode not supporting RTD temperature sensor.

So is there any new or updated things available for look ?

            Thanks in advance.

Thanks,
Bhautik

  • Dear Bhautik -

I found this related thread which has a link to the git where the source code for this reference design is, which looks like it includes support for PT100. e2e.ti.com/.../2342495

further, on the LMP91200 product page, there is code base in the Software section of the product page:
    www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware ==> www.ti.com/.../snac044

in which demo-app05 example specifically calls out RTD in the text comments (the other examples call out PT100, which is an RTD as well)

  • Hello Josh,

Thanks for your reply. It's a helpful for the firmware.

But for hardware side it seems that i required to design separate schematic for the RTD connection as current LMP91200 is not supporting direct RTD to pin connection.

    Thanks,
    Bhautik

  • Dear Bhautik -
What temp range will your application be operating in?
if lower than 5C, then we will need to work together here to find you another solution. This portion of the device was de-featured since the release of the TI Design because an issue was seen at low temp with a communication interface. This means directly that if you are operating above 5C, then you would most likely would still be OK - (but still need to test thoroughly before releasing to production).

    hope that helps you out.
  • Hello Josh,
It will operate from 10C to max 25C . I am not sure about the minimum temperature.

What currently i opted is lmp91200 for the PH and for the RTD i am going with the separate AFE and isolated to the PH AFE.

    Thanks,
    Bhautik
