IWR6843ISK: PMIC on Carrier board and IWR6843ISK

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST, , LP87702-Q1, IWR6843

Hello,

I have a question which I have been curious about for a while but never figured out: The IWR6843ISK and the MMWAVEICBOOST both have PMICs on them but are different in part numbers.

The LP87524B on the MMWAVEICBOOST carrier board seems to provide 3.3V, 1.2V, 1.8V,1.0V outputs. The LP87702-Q1 on the IWR6843ISK board seems to provide the 3.3V, 1.8V and 1.2V and a 1.24V output, which then goes to a second LDO (TPS7A5301QRGRRQ1) for the 1.0V output.

The outputs of the IWR6843 PMIC are then connected to the outputs from the MMWAVEICBOOST using 0.002 ohm resistors.

Firstly I was wondering what the reason is for this arrangement and secondly, for a custom PC I wanted to confirm that it is ok to use an LP87524B for providing the input voltages to the mmWave IC?

Many thanks,

Peter
