TMP102: Is the connection of the address pin latched at power on?

Team,

A question has come up as to the operation of the TMP102 and TMP112 sensors.

Is the connection of the address pin latched at power on (ie fixed address for duration of power-on), or is the address of the device dynamic if the address pin is driven to different locations during operation?

Why does this matter? Our FMEA analysis revealed that undesirable behavior might happen if the A pin were floating or coupled loosely to other signals. I argued that it ought to be latching the address at power on, but I can’t seem to find any evidence of that in the datasheet.

When the address pin is connected to SCL or SDA, the address is evaluated at every start condition. I will need to check for GND and V+ connection.

Hello Viktorijia,

I checked the design and it will not latch GND and V+ connection either. All of the address decoding happens at the time of the transaction.
