AWR1243: Issues with AWR1243+DCA1000

Can you help with question below?

1.       Firstly, we use  AWR1243+DCA1000 running mmWave studio to capture data through network, the DCA1000 firmware version always show 0.0.0.0, and the Ethernet cannot be connected. So we cannot capture data.

We have changed 4 PC, including 2 win10, 2 win8 OS, that is the same result. And also we follow the video from official website, but it cannot solve the problem.

2.       Secondly, since the DCA1000 FPGA version shows 0.0.0.0, we try to update the firmware follow the user guide. But it erases successfully, but program fail.

 

Need help with 2 items below:

1.       Help us to upgrade the firmware to DCA1000, to make it work

2.       Help us to setup the AWR1243+DCA1000 data capture system.

    Is there a way to double confirm if the board is bricked (comment from the customer below)?

    1.       Follow the step, we also have to press the SW4, so that the programing can be success. This looks our DCA1000 is ok now. It can be detected by device management. Thanks!

     

    2.       And now please continue to help us to solve the DCA1000+AWR1243 to capture data issue. Using mmWave studio, each time we click “setup DCA1000”, and configure, but the FPGA version always 0.0.0.0.

    We are using win10 64bit, and close all the firewall, followed the mmwave_sensor_raw_data_capture_using_dca1000_v02.pdf ,but not working. This issue blocked us so long times. Please help us to solve this issue.

    Can you upload a picture of your physical setup? Can you upload your mmWave Studio log files? Both of these will help debug this issue.

    We have two solution, first is DCA1000+AWR1443, the second is DCA+AWR1243. Both solution have problems, and the problems are different!
    Now let me shows the question details.

    Part 1, First solution,  DCA1000+AWR1443: cannot get data, Ethernet is not work, and other strange problems

    4.       RadarAPI screem -> choose DCA1000 check box (OK), -> Reset Set (OK) -> connect XDS110 Class Application/User UART with 115200 (OK) ->  load BSS FW xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss_ES2.0.bin (OK) -> load MSS FW xwr12xx_xwr14xx_masterss_ES2.0.bin (OK) -> SPI connect (FAIL)

    Part 2, Second solution, DCA1000+AWR1243, COM ports becomes very strange, cannot connect the devices.
            

    1.       Connect hardware, two power, two USB cable, one Ethernet. Power on. Device management shows there are two same COM ports!!! COM9 and COM8 are multi-defined. This causes mmWave studio cannot work!!

    2.       Open mmWave studio 1.0.0.0

    Did you make sure to change the IP address on your PC so that is has a hard-coded address of 192.168.33.30?

  • Yes, I am sure that the IP address on my PC has been changed to 192.168.33.30. But awr1443+DCA1000 did not work as before. Is there any other things that I missed?

    Can you upload screenshots of the Window Device Manager for the two configurations you are attempting? It is not immediately clear what the issue is with the COM ports.

    Solution 1: AWR1443+DCA1000, the com ports are looks correct
     
    Solution 2: AWR1243+DCA1000, the COM ports are not correct, since COM8 and COM9 are double defined.
     
    Currently, can you side firstly help me to solve the Ethernet issue about solution 1? At least we can collect data firstly, and then you help me to solve the solution2 COM ports issue.
