I refer to the original question which refers to another question which has the PCB stack up image.

The thickness of layer 1 and 6 is mentioned as 1.6mil - if they are using 0.5 Oz - how is it possible?

Hello Krishna,

0.5Oz is the base copper weight and does not consider the additional thickness after plating, etc. So the expected 0.7mil thickness for 0.5Oz copper actually becomes 1.6mil, which represents the finished thickness.
