LM26: Operating at -62C Temperature

Hi Team,

My customer wants to be able to store their system for up to 365 days at -62°C. They wish to apply power without damage (not operate until the temperature reaches -40°C). They would like to implement this protection using the LM26CIM5-BPB. However, its operating temp is -55C (-65C storage). Would it be possible for them to apply power at -62°C without damage?

I assume they can't do that since it violates the spec but just want to confirm.

    Hi Antonio,

    As you know, LM26 has an Absolute Max Storage Temperature of -65C and a Recommended Operating Temperature of -55C. If the device is powered on below -55C, we don't expect the device to be damaged. However, the device may not operate as expected and the output may be incorrect. We don't guarantee operation below -55C.
