FDC2214: FDC2214 burned?

Part Number: FDC2214

Hi there,

Were a facing an issue where the FDC2214 is pulling the 3.3V supply down to 1.1V. Could this be an indication that the FDC2214 chip is burned?

Thanks,
Isaac.

  • Hi Isaac,

Could you share your schematic and what power supply you are using?

    Best Regards,
  • We're using the recommended schematic in the datasheet powered by the 3V3 pin on an arduino nano. We have multiple of the same board and most of them work fine, but there is one one that pulls the 3v3 pin down to 1.1v, since the fdc is the only thing attached to this 3v3 pin I suspected that the fdc might be burnt, note that we tried replacing the arduino nano which didn't change anything

  • Hi Isaac,

It is possible that the FDC has experienced an over voltage event. I would suggest swapping FDC devices to see if the problem is isolated to this specific part. If it is not, it is likely due to something in your schematic. In that case I would suggest double-checking your hardware versus the recommended schematic in the datasheet.

    Best Regards,
