Hi,

I am working on a project, where I have to detect animals or human from high magnetic field area. I need a sensing system with a maximum 20 cm detection range. I already tried FDC10044evm but somehow it works not so good in a magnetic field. It seems too much fluctuation in the results (without object). And with the object within the range of 5 to 10 cm, the sensor was detected nothing.

In that situation, TI can suggest a solution or is there any other Capacitive proximity sensor?

Hello,

I recommend using the FDC2x1y devices, which use a resonant architecture that is immune to DC magnetic fields. You can read more about the architecture and how it differs from traditional charge-based capacitive sensing in this blog post. The detection distance is proportional to the area of the sensor. We have an application note that should be helpful for proximity sensing using the FDC2x1y devices.
