Hello,

Unfortunately, I need to run my application on Linux and I have a couple of set-up problems.

On windows everything was working properly so, it is definitely something that I am doing wrong in my setup.

I have my own version of the object detection but I still need to input the COM ports to make it run. I thought it is because I did not reflash the radar, so I also tried doing the entire procedure of flashing using uniflash, but I still need the ports #. I tried with /dev/ttyACM0 & /dev/ttyACM1 and it does something compared to others where it just sends an error instantly, here it outputs error: Not able to connect to serial port. Recheck the COM port selected.

Have you added the unix/linux user to dialout group?

usermod -a -G groupname username

use dialout as the groupname and replace username with your username on the system

I did - sudo usermod -a -G dialout $USER and still the same port not found error.

Did you logout and logback in? for the group change to take effect.

Type groups in command prompt after relogging in to see whether you are part of dialout group.

If you are part of dialout group and if you still have problems. You have to investigate further yourself in the following lines.

1. Check whether you can access ttyUSB or ttyACM0 using program like minicom to connectt to the harware

2. If it works with miniCom and doesn't work with UniFlash - then you can deduct where the problem is.

3. If it doesn't connect with minicom as well, then the problem is either the permissions are incorrect in your computer or something else to do with the computer.

What is the OS version you are using?

I am running Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS.

I logged out and in again and still does not work.

Minicom works and I changed the serial port from /dev/tty8 to /dev/ttyACM0 and still no change.

I have 18.10 and none of the mmwave sdk or CCS work on this version of Ubuntu as they are not supported. Hence I am not able to help you further.

However you are not the only one with uniflash problem check this thread and also threads referred in the conversation, you may be able to find out a solution.

when you say mini com works, can it connect to the Ti Board? if yes then you can probably try a work around of flashing the board on windows and trying to capture the data in ubuntu

Hello,

I got back to windows 10 to test the radar, and it gives me the same errors.

It can not find the COM port either. In my application demo it finds the ports and said connected, but no output is coming from the radar. Is the radar damaged ?

Can you try on WIn10 the mmwave SDK 2.1 oob demo?

That should tell us if the board works

Hello,

I made it run on Windows. I made it also work with uniflash on Linux.

The last problem now is for the oob demo. I need to ENTER the COM UART and AUX port. And the uart works in uniflash with /dev/ttyACM0 but no clue what AUX should be.
