LDC0851: May the LDC0851 could be used to determine if a battery is currently in the device or not?

Part Number: LDC0851

Hi Sir

Customer use hall sensor to determine battery is in device or not. but it need consider magnetic device.

so currently need search LDC0851 to replacement.

May the LDC0851 could be used to determine if a battery is currently in the device or not?

If yes, what things we need to notice?

Does we need to consider Metal Target size? Dose  LDC0851 need to calibration? what environment we need to notice?

  • Hi Bogey,

The LDC0851 can be used as long as there is a large conductive target and room for both a sensor and reference coil. The reference coil must not see the conductive target. The target should be at least as large as the sensor coil and located close to the coil. We have a quick start guide for the LDC0851 that should help answer most prototyping and calibration questions: www.ti.com/.../snoa947.pdf

    Best Regards,
