IWR1642: How to shift phase when I know the object's exact location?

Hi dear,

Let's say that I know the object of inerest is located at left 30 degree direction and want to do beamform on that direction.

Is it possible to use phase-shift api for this purpose on 1642EVM? or any other EVM?

Hi Kisub Jung,

Unfortunately beam-forming is not supported on mmWave Devices at this time.

Any way to cover room size 5X5 m^2 range to monitor vitialsign? with TI 1642 chipset?

Hi Kisub Jung,

You would need a custom antenna configuration in order to cover a room that size. The IWR1642BOOST features an antenna configuration that has a +/- 60 degree field of view (180 degree total).

Right, I am asking how to do a custom antenna configuration. Can you elaborate how to do it Step by Step?

Hi Kisub Jung,

I'd recommend looking at the Antenna Database on the Resource Explorer, dev.ti.com/.../node

If you have specific questions on Antenna Design then I'd recommend opening up a new thread!
