IWR6843: Running lab 15: People count in MATLAB

Hello,

I am currently trying to run lab 15 for a people count demo.Running the lab using the pplcount_gui works fine. However, when running the lab through MATLAB using the main_pplcount_viz, the sensor is not able to identify any people or point cloud in the gui. How can I detect people by running the lab through MATLAB?

Hi Ricardo,

I want to clarify a few points for my understanding:

You can run lab0015 using the precompiled matlab executable. The lab runs as expected.
You can run lab015 using the main_pplcount_viz.m file, but the lab does not run as expected.

Have you made any modifications to the .m file or to the .cfg file? Can you compare the .cfg file in the gui folder and the .cfg file in the quickstart folder?

What version of matlab are you using? currently, the .m file has been tested with 9.2 (2017a)

Hello Justin,

Yes, I am in agreement with your understanding of the issues that I am having.

I have not made any modifications to the .m or .cfg file. The .cfg files in the gui folder is the same as the one in the quickstart file.
I am currently running MATLAB 2018a 9.4.

Hi Ricardo,

TI has not tested the GUI visualizer with Matlab 9.4, so we cannot guarantee it will function correctly.

Had the same problem...
In my case the cfg file had some different parameters. Try the cfg file from the quickstart folder.
