IWR1642BOOST: People Counting Demo tweaking

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST

After finding out how to use the centroids in the people counting demo, I would like to know if it would be possible to increase the resolution in a close range for this demo (since I suppose the default chirp is best tuned for the 6x6m room)? I know that chirp configuration helps, but which parameters would be the best to tweak.

Also some questions to know if it would be possible to use the people counting demo without the gui, just running it endlessly.

  • So I'm trying to run the demo without the visualizer, but when I'm trying to define the configuration file without a GUI, it gives me the error that it cant find the number of boxes variable. I suppose its since you don't setup it, but I thought you could set up this demo to run without the visualizer? what would be the best way to do so

  • Hi Nuno,

The device already achieves maximum range resolution of about 4 cm with the chirp it is using, so you will not be able to increase the resolution for close range.

You can try shrinking the gating parameters to try to create smaller centroids.

You can send a configuration to the people counting gui and it will run endlessly, whether or not the gui is connected.

    Regards,

    Justin
