PGA460: Ultrsonic Distance Measurement Resolution

Hi

In regard to ultrasonic distance resolution offered by TI. We have obtained two answers that apparently do no reconcile;

• ·  The link RE: TDC7201: Range and Resolution tells us that we can obtain ~1 mico-meter resolution
• ·  On the other hand the link  https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors/f/1023/t/794752  tells us resolution is ~1cm

Questions are; 

• Did we understand correct?
• Is there a mistake in one of the answers?
• Does TI have other ultrasonic solution(s)?
• Is the limitation coming from the transducer? In that case do you have a recommendation for a high-resolution transducer?
