AWR1642BOOST: MIMO radar

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVE-STUDIO

If I set TX1 and TX2 in mmwave studio, and the number of chirp is 128, the number of samples is set to 512. From 1 to 256 points of each chirp in the received adc signal is the data of the transmitting antenna 1? From 257 to 512 points of each chirp in the received adc signal is the data of the transmitting antenna 2?

  • Hi,
I can't see the snapshot attached here. But let me respond based on your query-

If you need to use alternate Tx (Tx1 & Tx2) for each half group of chirps in a frame then first you need to set those group of chirps with Tx1 and Tx2 from ChirpConfig space of mmwave-Studio.
Under SensorConfig TAB of mmwave Studio after setting the profile, you need to set chirp config with:
    1. [0-255 chirps] profile ID=0, startChirp=0, endChirp=255, Tx0=check, Tx1=unCheck. - click set button
    2. [256-511 chirps] profile ID=0, startChirp=256, endChirp=511, Tx0=unCheck, Tx1=Check. - click set button

Now in the Frame setting: startChirp=0, endChirp=255, loop=1, periodicity=set accordingly. [ so single frame will contain total 512 chirp where first half will be triggered from Tx0 and next half will be from Tx1.
If you are planning to use different no. of chirps in frame then same way you can partition and set the config for using Tx0/Tx1.
