Hi Sensor team,

I have questions about the change with time of temperature and humidity of HDC2010.

For humidity sensor,

ACCURACY and LONG TERM DRIFT have been specified in the data sheet as attachement.

This can be understood that it may very up to +/- (3 + 0.25)% as the worst accuracy after one year, and +/- (3 + 2.5)% as the worst accuracy after 10 years.

Is that understanding correct?

For temperature sensor,

The ACCURACY spec exists in datasheet, but there is no spec of LONG TERM DRIFT like humidity.

What is the value of LONG TERM DRIFT for temperature measurement of this product?

Dear H.Someno -
Typical drift on the humidity portion of the sensor is +/-0.25% per year, so after 10 years it could be +/-2.5% off. You can leverage the offset register (0x09) to counteract this, if your system is programmed to keep track and check itself over time.

I will need to ask about the drift on temp spec question.

Dear Someno-san,

The long term temperature drift of the temp sensor will be well below 0.03 degrees C.

Is the UNIT of "0.03 degree C for "per year"?

I have additional questions from my customer about the your comments.
Please tell me your answers to the following items.

About +/-0.03degC/year for temperature long term drift,
Q1: Is it possible to consider the 0.03 deg C/yr temperature drift (0.03 deg C / yr) as the maximum value?
Or should it be considered as a typ value?
Q2: If it should be considered as typ value, what value should it be considered as the maximum value?

About +/-0.25%/year of Humidity long term drift on datasheet,
Q3: The long term drift of humidity is specified as typ value = 0.25% / year, but how much can it be estimated as the maximum value?
(Wants to know it as a reference.)

Please consider the 0.03 deg C per year is max, typical value will be much better.
for humidity - please accept the typical value given as the answer - there are many things which can impact the sensor over time - so we won't give a max drift on that parameter.
