Can mm-wave sensor count humans at a 60m distance?

Hi Murugavel,

TI has tested out to 50 meters. Feel free to modify the long range people counting chirp and test yourself to see if you can consistently detect a person at 60 meters.

The antenna can always be modified to improve the range - this requires board development.

Thanks for the reply. How the sensor is differentiating humans from any other object. Is the sensor catch the heartbeat of a human to calculate count?.

Hi Murugavel,

The sensor creates radar detection points, then clusters these. If the cluster is large enough, it is tracked as a human. See this document for more.
