IWR6843ISK-ODS: differences between IWR6843 and IWR1443

Part Number: IWR6843ISK-ODS
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443, IWR6843

What are the differences between IWR6843 and IWR1443 besides frequency and DSP? Has the measurement accuracy been improved?

  • Hello,

The IWR1443 and IWR6843 mainly differ in the following respects:

    1. RF Frequency band: IWR1443 works in the 76-81GHz frequency band while the IWR6843 works in the 60-64GHz band.
    2. Digital processing cores: IWR1443 has a Cortex R4F core and a Hardware Accelerator which provide for basic Radar processing (point cloud output). The IWR6843 has the same Cortex R4F core and Hardware Accelerator but also has a C674x DSP to allow for advanced algorithms like tracking and classification.
    3. Available memory: IWR6843 has more memory which allows for more program code and a bigger Radar cube. It also includes the additional memory for the DSP subsystem.

Essentially, the IWR6843 is a more capable device. Please look at the following link for detailed device specs:
