IWR1642BOOST: What kind of data can I retrieve from IWR 1642 BOOST?

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVE-SDK, IWR1443BOOST, IWR6843ISK,

What kind of data can I retrieve from IWR 1642 BOOST?
What is the format of those data?

Example, distance to object, speed of object etc

Distance to subject → 30m
Target speed → 50km / h

Can I retrieve such data?

  • Hi User,

mmWave sensors enable one to retrieve an object's range, velocity, and angular information. This is actually shown in the standard mmWave-SDK demo. I'd recommend ordering either an IWR1443BOOST, IWR1642BOOST, or IWR6843ISK

Let me know if you have more questions!

    Cheers,

  • Hi Akash,

Thank you for answering my questions!

Is it possible to retrieve data using mmWave-SDK with raspberry pi?

Which part of the document should I refer to for data that can be retrieved?
I referred to the mmWave-SDK documentation but I did not know where it was written.
  • Hi Kohei,

You will need to interface your Raspberry Pi with the mmWave sensor with the protocol of your choosing. Keep in mind the IWR1443BOOST, IWR1642BOOST, and IWR6843ISK work as stand-alone evaluation modules and there are a variety of labs available for them on the TI Resource Explorer, dev.ti.com/.../

The output data format is available in the mmWave Doxygen which is located in the following location, <mmWave_SDK_Installation_Path>\packages\ti\demo\<Device Name>\mmw\docs\doxygen\html\index.html

    Cheers,
