IWR6843ISK: IWR6843 power design question

Hi,

My customer is designing their IWR6843 board, found in IWR6843 ISK schematic one load switch TPS22918 device is used for power delay, would u pls help let us know if it is must or not? If must why? Look forward to your direct reply asap.

I found same question in below link but no answer.

Hello,

In IWR6843ISK power would come from another board MMWAVEICBOOST. Power input is 3.3V which also directly connected to IWR6843 device as well. Other supplies are derived through LP8770 PMIC + LDO combination. Load switch is added so that we could apply all the power supply together to the device by gating the 3.3V with the supply 1.8V (Using load switch) supply availability from the PMIC device.

Having said that, load switch is not a must have requirement.

Hi Chethan,

Thanks, so there is no need to ensure 3.3v supply sync with other power supply, connect directly without load switch the 3.3v would supply early, iwr6843 can also work well, right?

Yes, from device point of view there is no supply sequencing is required.
