OPT3101: reference design

hi,

for current project I'm researching sensors and type of sensors for obstacle detection.

This sensor will need to pinpoint an obstacle, but only on a certain level.

It will be mounted on top of a vehicle, and will report to phone via BLE module if it can get below the obstacle.

So the detection beam should be as narrow as possible to false obstacle readings.

Also, we target a detection range in the range of 2-5 meters, as this is outdoor application and optic sensors are limited in bright sunlight.

Currently customer is evaluating Vl53l1X from STM, but we are in proof of concept phase.

    I was wondering if the customer was interested in a 3rd party module that we are in that seems to meet their specs. This uses OPT3101 and works out of the box it also has a narrow FoV. Not sure if it fits for them but wanted to give this as an option. en.benewake.com/.../5c345cd0e5b3a844c472329b.html

    If not since OPT3101 is an AFE and they get to choose the optics used they can pick optics with the desired FoV. We have a system estimator tool online for simulating performance and they can check if their requirements in terms of accuracy, etc are achievable.
