DCA1000EVM: mmWave Studio - Unable to perform PostProc on long data acquisition

Part Number: DCA1000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642BOOST

Greetings,

I have been using the mmWave Studio 2.0.0.2 for some time now to acquire some radar data with DCA1000EVM connected to a AWR1642BOOST radar module.

Usually I capture relatively small sized data (300 to 400 MB) but now I needed to capture a larger stream that should be closer in size to 1GB. I am capturing 1250 frames, each frame lasts 8ms and has 255 chirps, each chirp having 174 ADC samples. ADC is configured with 16bits, format Complex2x, I First. LVDS Lane Configuration with format 0 with Lane 1 and Lane 2 on.

The board seems to behave normally and it performs the capture, however the PostProc button in the SensorConfig banner does not show itself available to press after the capture is finished.

In the directory C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_00_00_02\mmWaveStudio\PostProc the adc_data.bin file is empty.

I would like to know if there is a sollution to overtake this problem or if there is a limitation that does not allow such big capture.

Thanks in advance and Best Regards,

Edgar Gonçalves

  • Hi,

Could you try to increase the packet delay in the DCA1000 configuration?

There is no limitation to capture large amount of data. Beyond 1GB, the data will be collected in several files. Only the first file can be post processed with integrated mmwave studio matlab tools. For the other files one would need to develop matlab processing functions outside mmwave studio

    thank you
