AWR1642BOOST-ODS: communicating with the EVM

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST-ODS

Team,

My customer is trying to communicate with the AWR1642BOOST-ODS Rev B mmWave radar evaluation board, and running into issues:

I am trying to communicate with the board using the open source software provided by TI Resource explorer.

mmWave Sensors>Automotive Toolbox-2.4.7>Labs>Obstacle Detection

http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AAVZ77.beT8w9U2Z65zdsQ__AocYeEd__LATEST

I was able to flash the board but now I am stuck on step 4 [Run the Visualizer].  When I try to click connect on the GUI provided, it fails and the only error message I get is that it doesn't detect the COM port I provided.  I verified the COM ports work and are not being used by another program.

Aside from that, the only other difference I can think of but am sure is not an issue is I'm using a 5V/1A supply, not the 5V/2.5A suggested by the tutorial.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Viktorija
