IWR1642: control via USB-UART adaptor

Hello!
Due to the fact that I am going to develop a modified motherboard based on IWR1642, I had the following question: can I flash the IWR1642chip itself, configure and receive TLV-data without using TM4C1294NCPDT? Now I am experimenting and directly connecting to IWR1642via UART lines using an USB-UART adapter, and when sending any commands I can receive a response only only from the port, which is XDS110 Class Application/User UART (mmDemo).

Hello,

Yes, if you have external USB to UART then you could flash the device with Uniflash tool. However care need to be taken USB to UART drivers are compatible with the Uniflash tool, In some cases UART drivers would strip of some UART character then Uniflash may not recognize the our device in that case. Apart from TM4C1294NCPDT device, we have seen FTDI based USB to UART converters are compatible.

Thank you for your reply! Please tell me how to get data from the chip IWR1642 without having TM4C1294NCPDT? Now, when I am connecting to the IWR1642 via the UART-USB adapter, I see only the answers that the IWR1642 sends during configuration, as if the COM port with the data simply does not exist.

Could you please provide which USB-UART adapter you are using?
Does the virtual comport shows up on the PC?
