OPT3001-Q1: Mask vs. Unmask of ME bit?

Part Number: OPT3001-Q1

Hi team,

-. Can you explain what is the different about setting mask vs. setting unmask of ME bit in OPT3001-Q1?

-. Can you show an example of the manual register settings for max.83k lux?

Thanks,

Sam Lee

  • Hi Sam,

    1. Masking the exponent will set the value of the exponent bits of the result register to 0. This feature is useful in manual mode when you already know the value of the exponent after setting it in configuration register.

    2. To be in the max (83k lux) mode, you need to set the top four bits of the configuration register to 1011b. An example register configuration would be B490h which should set your result register to the max range.

Refer to page 23, table 10 for more information. Please let me know if you need clarification or any more assistance.

    Best,
    John M.
