I am looking at mmWave radar (or other types) of short- to mid-range sensors for detecting objects at distances up to ~6 meters (~20ft), but sensing beyond that is ok, just not critical. I would like to have the near-range for object detection be as close as possible, but realize there is typically a minimum detection distance due to dead zones near sensor. Detecting objects within at least a foot, or closer, to the sensor would be preferred. If you could point me in the direction of a suitable evaluation kit, I would appreciate it. I am planning on evaluating the radar for use with ROS, utilizing the ti_mmwave_rospkg for initial assessment. The sensors are intended to be used for outdoor operations of detecting object presence such as natural materials (wood, rocks, grass, animals, people, etc.) and man-made objects of sizes larger than a couple of centimeters. Millimeter accuracy on distance detection would be preferred, but centimeter accuracy on distance could be acceptable.
