Hi,

I am trying to use the PGA411-Q1 EVM with a resolver that has 4 terminals. The terminals on the resolver are "Power Ground", "Resolver Sine", "Resolver Cosine", "Resolver Drive". I assume that I can connect the negative side on the SIN and COS inputs to GND. Is that correct? How do I connect the negative side of the excitation output of the EVM?

Most of the time resolver sensors have differential inputs and outputs, and they usually don't have ground connections (although the ground could be for the casing)... Do you have a model number for the sensor so that I can look it up? Or a datasheet?

Hi Clancy,

I do not have the resolver's datasheet. I used a DMM to determine the resistance of the 3 terminals to ground and I found that the "Resolver Drive" pin has a 20 Ohm resistance to "Power Ground" and the "Resolver Sine" and "Resolver Cosine" have 50 ohms resistance to "Power Ground". I think the resolvers negative terminals for diff inputs and outputs are connected together and to ground. How should I configure the EVM to work with a resolver in this configuration?
