IWR6843: Synchronized capture raw data at starting of each frame using DCA1000 ?

Part Number: IWR6843

Hi

We're using DCA1000 for capturing raw data of IWR6843 which being transmitted to PC over LVDS (IWR6843 is built in our system, not evaluation board) , and currently we have a problem with assigning the captured raw data to IWR6843 corresponding channels.

For chirp profile configuration 3TXs and 4Rxs are used to form a 12 virtual channels. To verify the assigning of raw data to virtual channels, we put an absorber on one of the TX-antenna and record the raw data. The expectation is 4 channels (4 RXs) out of total 12 virtual channels should always have a very low amplitude. What we have seen is:

    - The 4 channels with low signal amplitude are randomly changed (now always the same 4 channels) everytime we restart/re-power the IWR6483 chip.

    - The raw data is mixed between two consecutive chirps instead of a complete single chirp. (as in attached picture)

We assume that the above problems are due to unsynchronized capture of raw data from DCA1000 (the captured raw data is not synchronized to the starting from a frame but to an arbitrary time point).

The questions are:

    - Is our assumption correct?

    - If so, how can we identify/synchronize that the transmitted raw data is at starting of a frame ?

Thanks very much.
