AWR1843: HIL operation by mmWave Studio

Part Number: AWR1843

HI Experts,
I would like to test the data flow with HIL function through mmWave Studio.
The step is that the user data is set to ADC memory and the LVDS output would be checked.

Could you please let me know the meaning of "Start Offset" and "Value to be added"?
They are in mmWaveStudio   DataConfig tab -> “Test Pattern Generator Configuration”

Thank you very much for your kind teaching me.
Best regards,
Hitoshi

  • Hello Hitoshi San,

You mean test pattern function. This function basically generates a ramp data pattern on the LVDS interface instead of the actual radar data.

The offset value is the start value for the ramp. From this start value the step value is added based on bits <31-16> of the  "TESTPATTERN RX0 ICFG"

parameter. This addition happens every  N number of 200Mhz clocks as programmed in the " TESTPATTERN GEN TIMING" parameter. Keep this large for now, like 200 clock cycles or so.

    Regards,

    Vivek

  • Hi Vivek,
    Thank you for the explanation.
Will try to use it to understand deeply.

    Best regards,
    Hitoshi
