IWR6843ISK: Reset signal timing

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843, MMWAVEICBOOST

Hello TI team,

We are finishing development of own IWR6843 based solution and currently we have some problems with board flashing/running (we have something like 25% of success rate). A colleague of mine thinks the reset signal is not controlled properly. Unfortunately, we have not found any information about the RESET signal timing (in the datasheet). Can you please provide us some details?

Thank you, Lukas

  • Hi Lukas,

Is there a reason you believe there is an issue with the reset signal? Do you have any plots or captures you can share?

We'll need some time to look in into this.

    Cheers,

    Akash

  • Hello,

In general from Datasheet point of view, we need to apply reset (NRESET) after any boot mode changes (i.e. SOP lines change), otherwise boot modes will not be correctly registered by our boot-loader.

In Rev B version of the carrier board (MMWAVEICBOOST), We have increased the reset time constant i.e. R to 100k and C to 1uf on the reset signal to ensure there is sufficient delay between SOP lines and NRESET signal.

If you have Rev A board, you could implement this change and see if this would be any help.

    Thanks and regards,

    CHETHAN KUMAR Y.B.
